PROJECT "PK-FLOVAL" 2008

The picture on the right is a 'Photoshopped' pic I did before ordering the new 2008 'Floval Flyer', I wanted an 'Everyday BMX Rider' that was 24" or 'Cruiser' sized (I'm a big guy) So, I thought the 'Floval Flyer' was a good choice although, I didn't like the look of the 24" Alex rims that were standard so.... here is the BEFORE vs AFTER shots. The After shot looks like 'Chip Foose' & the 'American Chopper' boys have messed around with it.

The 24" Tuff Wheels are 'Genuine' SKYWAY Wheels and cost around $220 AUD although the chain and sprocket had to be changed. The Bike has 'Chain Tensioners' built into the frame. They also come with SE Racing Padset and Race Plate although I have bought the Black/Gold PK Ripper padset for it, These are readily available from Darren at Warzone Bikes (Link Below). I have also just re-Badged the bike with 'PK RIPPER' Stickers which I made myself.
See pics of the actual bike below.

Purchased from Darren at 'Warzone Bikes', Sutherland in Sydney, AUSTRALIA, Thanks Dude !

PHOTO OF MY RE-BADGED 2008 FLOVAL FLYER

with 24" Skyway Tuff Wheel II's, Retro SE Racing Padset and Front Brake removed.

My 2008 PK Ripper Cruiser

It took about 3 months to get this little project together but I am very happy with the results,
I removed the front brakes because they basically looked shite and got in the way when doing 'Kurb-Endos'...

I'm still not sure about the white cranks and am considering upgrading them to 'Redline' Flight Cranks
or even the chrome SE Racing ones that come standard on the 20" PK Ripper's.

I am really happy I didn't go for the White Tuff Wheels....Would love to add a set of original "OAKLEY 3" Grips
thats if I could find some in Black that aren't $300.

Until then its a great daily driver and project 'PK' continues...

Cheers

MY 'DC Shoes P.K. Ripper'

BIKES - RETRO BMX - ABGOD's

Finally after 27 years of waiting I am the proud owner of an extremely rare DC Shoes PK Ripper. Its a Limited Edition Grey and Black number developed through the partnership of 'DC Shoes' and 'SE Bikes'.

The 'DC PK RIPPER' is limited to only 150 Bikes Worldwide, I am told that the first 50 weren't actually for sale,I ended up scoring bike #111/150 and a School buddy I know scored bike #114/150. I feel totally priveleged to own this bike and would never sell it, I am considering mounting it on the wall here in my office. Browndog...

2007 Trek Fuel Ex6

MY MOUNTAIN BIKE

My 'Daily Mtn Bike' is a 2007 Trek Fuel EX-6, this is a Cross Country Mountain Bike and is sensational, it replaced my2001 Canondale Jekyll F700 (which I never really liked)
and is a huge improvement especially on fast corners and downhill.

I have replaced the seat post a 'Bontrager' with an Easton C70 which is Carbon and much lighter but, the main reason was the Easton post has a 30mm setback. I have also upgraded the tyres from the standard Bontrager's to a Continental Explorer on the front and a Maxxis 'High Roller' 2.35 DownhillTyre on the rear for the heavy duty trails. I initially had a Continental Explorer on the rear and it was shredded after the first ride, its heavier having the Downhill tyre on the rear but damn its ballsy.

SPECIFICATIONS: TREK FUEL EX-6 2007

FRAME: Alpha SLR Aluminum w/100mm travel
FORKS: Rockshox Reba SL w/positive and negative air pressure, Motion Control, rebound, compression, lockout, 100mm
WHEELSET: Shimano LX disc hubs; Bontrager Ranger rims
TYRES: Bontrager Jones XR 26x2.2/2.25", 60 tpi, folding (Replaced with Continental Explorers)
SHIFTERS: Shimano LX Dual Control, 9 speed
FRONT DERAILLEUR: Shimano LX
REAR DERAILLEUR: Shimano XT
CRANKSET: Shimano LX 44/32/22
CASSETTE: SRAM PG950 11-34, 9 speed
SADDLE: Bontrager Race Basic
SEATPOST: Bontrager Race (Replaced with Easton C70 Carbon)
HANDLEBARS: Bontrager Race, 40mm rise, 31.8mm
STEM: Bontrager Race, 7 degree, 31.8mm
HEADSET: Cane Creek S-3 w/cartridge bearings, sealed
BRAKESET: Shimano LX, hydraulic disc, 6" rotors.

My Road Bike

I also own a 54cm 1988 Pinarello 'Tour De France' Team Reynolds/Banesto Road Bike, it is finished in 'Midnight Black' and runs Campagnolo Record with Chorus cranks, it is shod with Campagnolo 'Aero' rims and runs Continental Tyres. This bike has won many Road races and probably covered in the vacinity of around 150,000Km's (yep thats about an average of 100Km's per week for 20yrs) This is another bike I would never sell.
